It's getting late now

Another massacre, another day – my mind races “Could it be another Muslim?” well why not, aren’t all the evils of society perpetrated by Muslims these days? Wanton killing, terrorism, brutality to women, cartoon haters, now gang crime and life goes on. The last time a community was branded this way, it was our Semitic cousins the Jews. Deep within the ancient Christian psyche lies a deep paranoia concerning the threat from Infidels (i.e. Jews and Muslims). Not unlike mental illness it flares up during social and economic decline.  Jack Straw, a coward of the highest order as demonstrated by his wearing of full body armour just in order to stand next to Condoleezza Rice, should know far better than to couple a particular race alongside the perceived evil of our society. After 31 years as an MP he has now felt it is his moral duty to warn the British people about the latest Muslim threat against their daughters. His candour is particularly chilling and reminds me of Le Penn. Let’s ignore the fact that the population of Muslims in the UK is now about 2 million, how can the MP for Blackburn – an almost entirely Muslim constituency believe he has a right to come away with such a statement? Ask any meerkat and he will tell you: it is simples! Most of us Muslims are too busy trying to better our way of life, protect our ancestral ways, augment our faith credentials for the afterlife, or simply squabbling - and I am guilty as charged in this matter as well. We are engaged in absolutely anything that does not involve standing up to be counted in the modern political arena. History is loaded with warning for those who think that life in Europe is easy – take Sarajevo or Muslim Spain as examples, both ended in holocausts. Now is the time for us to change ourselves and address this new era before it undresses us. I never agreed with type casting, but let’s build an image for ourselves instead of letter others do it for us. Let us make ourselves worthy and stand up not only against people who attack us, let us rather stand up for the principles of Islam by protecting the weak and oppressed of all faiths, showing mildness and constraint in times of chaos, teaching in times of ignorance, steadfastness in times of difficulty. Let us spit in the face of the devil and laugh even, or especially, in times of darkness.
